A Question and Response that Rocked My World

Standing at the copy machine making copies for my homeschool co-op class, a friend rocked my world with this question: "Would you consider serving as co-op director?"  Ummm, where did THAT come from? As a quiet, behind-the-scenes, introvert kinda gal, I never thought about serving on co-op leadership. After recovering from the shock, and chatting about the reasons behind the question, I told my friend I would pray about it and talk with my Best Beloved. I must admit, I was fairly certain the LORD would direct me to say "no," after all He knows I'm a quiet, behind-the-scenes, introvert kinda gal.

Ah, but the LORD works in mysterious ways, yes? Imagine my shock when He directed me and my Best Beloved to say yes to serving as co-op director four years ago. Here was an invitation to join Him in the work HE was doing in our local co-op--He just needed my yielded heart. And I'm so thankful I yielded. I learned so much during this season--things I'm still pondering--but, oh, what I would have missed if I had rejected His invitation. "For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to will and to act for His good purpose." Philippians 2:13

Just as He directed my response to accept His invitation, He made clear to me and my Best Beloved the time for me to pass along the co-op director baton to the next mom He invited to serve in this position. She too was shocked by His invitation, but yielded to the invite.

I'm looking forward to pondering lessons this quiet, behind-the-scenes, introvert kinda gal learned during this season, and I'm excited to see what He does through our new co-op director and board members.
