Living in the country, when the sun goes down--all the way down for the night--it is dark. Amazingly dark. No street lights. No neighborhood house lights. No distant glow of city lights.
I remember the first night out at our place nearly 7 years ago. Growing up in the suburbs, I had never experienced such a night. I couldn't believe how dark it was, and oh, how stunningly magnificent the night sky was. Oh. my. word. The stars--stars upon stars upon stars. With no man-made lights distracting my view, I was awed by the lights hung in place by the Creator of all things. Each time I wander outside at night or in the early morning hours, I am awed by His beautiful design.
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth. Psalm 33:6
