Yep, that's how I define FAIL nowadays--it's just part of the learning process ;)
As you stick with eBay, you will learn different things to improve what you're doing and make your listing process better/easier. And I'm certain your picture process will be among the things you progress with and improve as you go along--that's definitely been my experience.
Here are a few things I've learned over the last several months with my pictures--keep in mind that I'm trying to use things I have around my house first & keep costs extremely low (or free!):
- White poster board can make a nice, clean background for pictures
- DIY Photo Light Box using cardboard box, tissue paper and a little bit of time
- Another option--Milk Jug Light Box
- I've found daylight energy saver bulbs (in extra/reclaimed tabletop lamps without any lampshades) help to add much needed light to my picture-taking area
