Have you discovered Pinterest yet? Oh. my. word. It's like a virtual bulletin board--creative ideas, encouraging sayings, verses, etc.,--that you can pin without cluttering a countertop. (Yes, I have flat surface syndrome--flat surfaces in my home beckon me to pile them with stuff.)
Pinterest is a great site. And it's where I picked up my first saving-on-my-groceries step. (I'm attempting to break my convenience food habits and halt what seems to be an ever increasing amount of $$ I spend at the grocery store.)
From Pinterest, I found this website for Fake Betty Crocker Cookie Mixes. With these recipes, I can make up my own convenience mixes and store them in my pantry--woo hoo!
Last weekend, I put together dry mixes for Chocolate Chip cookies and Oatmeal Raisin cookies so they're ready to use during the week. And we've already enjoyed the yummy deliciousness of both recipes. What can I say? I live with a family of cookie monsters. As a family of 6, cookies do not make it long here. (In fact, now that I know my family likes both recipes, I may double each one this weekend to get about 2 dozen cookies from each batch.)
